Klein Tools Donates 100 Cable Cutters to Tucson Fire Foundation Initiative

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL – October 12, 2011

Klein Tools, Inc. is partnering with the Greater Tucson Fire Foundation to supply 900 Tucson area firefighters with Klein’s High-Leverage Cable Cutter (Cat. No. 63050). Statistics show nearly 25% of all line of duty deaths occur when firefighters become entangled in wiring and cables, and run out of oxygen. Klein’s High-Leverage Cable Cutter is already being used by firefighters on the job to cut through those wires, preventing line of duty deaths. The Greater Tucson Fire Foundation is working to supply these cable cutters to all firefighters in 13 departments in Southern Arizona, approximately 900 firefighters. Klein Tools has donated 100 cable cutters to the Foundation’s initiative. Bob Klein, Vice President of Klein Tools, will be on hand when the first cable cutters are distributed to firefighters in Tucson October 12th.

The Foundation is raising money through the sale of bricks outside its Firefighters Memorial to purchase the remaining cable cutters. For more information on this initiative, please visit the Foundation’s website www.tucsonfirefoundation.com.
