From nearly 200 Electrician of the Year nominees, we’ve narrowed it down to six. Gentlemen from across the country who inspired us with their dedication to professional development, dedication to safety, and dedication to their communities. It was an extremely tough decision, but we are proud to introduce the Electrician of the Year Regional Winners:

It’s been two weeks since we closed the nomination process for Klein Tools’ Electrician of the Year, and we’ve spent the last couple of weeks sifting through nearly 200 nominations! I have to say, I have really enjoyed reading about all the nominees.

With Thanksgiving being so late this year, it’s given our Graphics Department a chance to be a little creative with the Klein Tools turkey.

And there are a couple of other blogs out there that are “gobbling” up our clever bird:

On a serious note, Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the meaningful moments throughout the past year, and give thanks for those moments. And at Klein Tools, we have a lot to be thankful for this year.

But every year, we are most thankful for our loyal fans and customers.

We take great pride in delivering products made with the highest quality materials and superior workmanship, so that every tool we make has the performance, durability, and precision to stand up to the demands of professionals, like you, who use them every day. So, thank you for your continued support, and…

If you were flipping through channels last week and happened to stumble upon Fox Business Channel (or if you were following us on Facebook or Twitter), then you might’ve gotten a quick glimpse inside our manufacturing facility in Lincolnshire, IL.

Fox Business News highlighted their Friday manufacturing segments with a series of quick live broadcasts from Klein Tools’ Lincolnshire plant. That is where we make screwdrivers, nut drivers, and other products.

A Fox Business News reporter was also on hand to gather some important manufacturing information from Klein Tools President Tom Klein.

Like it or not, winter has pretty much arrived. At Klein Tools’ headquarters in Chicago, we saw our first snowfall this week, followed by a nasty dip in temperatures (wind chills in the 10s?!).

I’ll admit, I write these blog posts from the comfort of my cube in a climate-controlled office building, but I can empathize with anyone who has to work outside in this kind of weather. So, even though the REALLY cold weather is yet to come, it’s never too early to be reminded of how to stay safe in these kinds of temperatures.

We’re just barely into November, and it’s already beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Stores are fully stocked with holiday décor, Christmas tree lightings are underway, and Starbucks is selling its popular holiday drinks. And we are happily jumping on the holiday bandwagon, because Christmas has come a little early here at Klein Tools.

Our classic Canvas Tool Bag has popped up in another unexpected place... the holiday window display at Macy’s in downtown Chicago, which was unveiled this past weekend.

“For it is in giving that we receive.” – St. Francis of Assisi

We’re not big on bragging here at Klein Tools, but we’re pretty sure we have some of the best customers around. And we’re not JUST talking about the hard-working, dedicated-to-their-craft, tradesperson. We’re talking about the all-around good guys (and gals!).

Case in point: Gerald Schumacher.

Gerald entered our search for the World’s Oldest Pliers earlier this year. He didn’t have the oldest pliers, but at 89 years old, he was the Oldest Original User to submit an entry. This Navy veteran bought his first pair of “Klein’s” back in 1956. Even though he didn’t win the grand prize, we sent him some new tools for sharing his great story, which you can read here.

There’s nothing quite like tailgating with friends before a football game.  It doesn’t matter what the level of play is, whether it’s high school, college or the pros.  Getting up early, brewing a pot of coffee and hitting the pavement always feels better when you’re gearing up for football.  At Klein Tools, we share the same passion for pigskin and we have the tools to let you tailgate in style.

For that early morning coffee, nothing beats the Klein Tools Insulated Beverage Hauler.   The Beverage Hauler features double-walled stainless steel insulation, as well as the largest cushion grip handle you’ve ever seen.  With a stainless steel cap that doubles as a cup, your favorite beverage can be enjoyed in any setting.

What exactly is a lineman’s rodeo? Well unfortunately, there are no bulls or rodeo clowns. Instead, the Lineman’s Rodeo attracts some of the most skilled linemen in the world to compete in a variety of events based on traditional lineman tasks and skills. While the “International Tree Climbing Competition” may have been a better way to describe this event, it really just doesn’t have the same ring to it as the Lineman’s Rodeo.

Over 200 teams of apprentices will be on hand to participate in the 2013 International Lineman’s Rodeo & Expo which kicks off this week just outside of Kansas City, Kansas. The expo portion of the event will be held on October 17-18 and will be located at the Overland Park Convention Center at 6000 College Blvd., Overland Park, KS. The actual rodeo will be held on Saturday, October 19 in Bonner Springs, Kansas at the National Agriculture Center & Hall of Fame.
