Fall has officially arrived! Tuesday marked the official first day of Fall. Although it is still a pleasant 70 degrees in northern Illinois, we’ve already had a taste of the brisk cold that will be here before we know it. And if forecasters are to be believed, it’s going to be another brutal winter.
I’m not waiting around for it. I’ve already ordered a new hi-viz Klein Tools Orange Fleece Jacket and a Knit Hat. I also got my hands on a pair of our brand-new Journeyman™ Cold Weather Gloves.
I’m actually pretty excited to test these out in the elements. Of course, I’ll be using them when I’m out shoveling snow, but I’ve tried them out in some icy conditions already (see picture above) and the gloves kept my hands both warm and dry.
That’s probably because the palm and fingers are lined with Thinsulate®. Thinsulate, if you didn’t know, is a brand of insulation that you see used a lot in heavy winter jackets and ski gear, so you know it’s gotta be pretty good stuff.
Klein’s Journeyman Cold Weather gloves also have Thinsulate lining and water-resistant fabric on the back. The palms of these gloves have a rubberized fabric that provides water resistance, but also extra grip. And a neoprene (ie. wetsuit material) thumb and cuff keeps melting snow from seeping in and freezing your hands.
These gloves come in three sizes: Medium, Large, and X-Large. They are also machine-washable.
