American Ninja Electrician

With every turn of a screwdriver and step up a ladder, a master electrician from Virginia has inched his way closer to becoming an American Ninja Warrior.

32-year-old Stephens Nunnally has made it all the way to the finals of NBC’s obstacle course competition show. A couple of weeks ago Stephens crushed the course in the Miami finals round and qualified to compete in the finals in Las Vegas, which start Monday, August 18th (9/8c)!

The really amazing part of Stephens’ story is that he credits his day job with helping him prepare for the grueling obstacles that test your balance, grip strength, and overall athletic ability. Stephens said on the show that climbing up ladders with heavy cables and equipment helped build his core strength and he’s built amazing grip strength from turning screwdrivers hundreds of times a day. You can watch some of his on-the-job training in his audition video.

Now he moves on to the finals in Las Vegas, which will start airing this Monday in NBC’s primetime lineup. In these final rounds, Stephens and his competition will face a four-stage course modeled after the famed Mt. Midoriyama in Japan. But, if Stephens continues to sweep through these courses like he has been, the payoff could be huge…in the form of a $500,000 grand prize!

Stephens – We wish you good luck in the finals! And thanks for representing the trades in such an awesome way. If you see this, send us a message with your address and we’ll send you some tools that are fit for an American Ninja Warrior!
