POWER-RETURN TAPE MEASURE RECEIVES GOLD AWARD IN PLANT ENGINEERING'S
2002 PRODUCT OF THE YEAR COMPETITION |
CHICAGO, IL
– February 2003 – Klein Tools, the world’s leading producer of
professional-grade hand tools and occupational protective equipment,
has received a gold award in Plant Engineering’s 2002 Product
of the Year Competition. The gold award was awarded to the Klein®
power-return tape measure, which was entered in the category of
"Maintenance Products."
Introduced in January 2002, the Klein power-return tape measure
has a rare earth magnet tip that holds firmly to any ferrous metal,
and allows easier one-person measurements. The tape measure is
protected by a thick, impact-absorbing, rubber jacket. The jacket’s
comfortable, non-slip grip allows for easy handling on the job
site. The new power-return tape measure also features a nylon-coated,
steel blade that is designed to reduce wear and abrasion. A two-step
lock button allows slow or fast retraction as well as secure holding
of the blade.
Klein Tools will be recognized in an awards presentation during
the National Plant Engineering & Management Show in Chicago,
IL on Monday, March 3, 2003. "Klein Tools is proud to be

Recognized as one of the premier honors for new products in the
plant engineering market, Plant Engineering’s Product of the Year
Awards Competition has been held annually for 15 years. Finalists
are chosen by a panel of industry experts; readers’ ballots determine
the gold, silver and bronze awards in fifteen categories, as well
as a grand award winner. All winners are selected for creating
especially useful and innovative products for the plant engineer.|
