Twin-Leg Deceleration Lanyard For Use in 100 Percent Tie-Off Fall

CHICAGO, IL - June 2001 - Klein Tools' new Klein-Lite® twin-leg
deceleration lanyard is designed for use by construction, electrical,
communications and maintenance professionals in 100 percent tie-off
fall-arrest systems. The lanyard (Model #87475) is engineered
to allow one lanyard leg to always be connected to an anchorage
point while a working position is being changed.
The twin-leg deceleration lanyard is manufactured of heavy-duty,
1" orange tubular-nylon webbing that protects an energy-absorbing
inner core made of chemical-resistant polyester. Three drop-forged
steel, double-locking Klein-Lok® snap hook with a corrosion-resistant
finish are permanently attached. One Klein-Lok snap hook is attached
at the center for the harness connection and one snap hook is
attached at each leg end for an anchorage point connection.
The construction-grade deceleration lanyard is 6' in working length
and has a maximum deceleration distance of 3.5'. The lanyard reduces
fall-arrest forces to less than 900 lbs.
The Klein-Lite deceleration lanyard is equipped with a red warning
label on each leg that indicates when it has been subjected to
a severe impact force. After severe impact, the lanyard should
not be used again.
The Klein-Lite twin-leg deceleration lanyard complies with OSHA
and ANSI requirements. Instructions and warning labels accompany
the lanyard.
The new Klein-Lite twin-leg deceleration lanyard is part of Klein
