4th of July Fun

One of my favorite holidays of the year is almost here...Independence Day! My family typically spends the long holiday weekend at our lake cabin – out on the boat, BBQ-ing, and (my favorite!) watching and shooting off fireworks!

Hopefully you were able to get Friday off of work to enjoy the long weekend, and you have some good 4th of July fun planned. I've taken the liberty of browsing Pinterest for some pretty cool patriotic DIY projects to tackle on your day off. (HINT: Some Klein tools may be required)

Fireworks Fun
Sparkling Fireworks Photos

How to Take Sparkling Fireworks Photos - Buy a bunch of sparklers. See if you can recruit enough people to spell out "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"...or just "USA." (BONUS: Instead of sparklers, try this with your Klein Tools Hi-Viz Tools or the new NCVT-3 with Flashlight!)

Straw Rockets – Fun for little kids and probably the "big" kids, too!

Party Games
Bean Bag Toss Boards

Make a Jumbo Jenga Game - Paint the blocks red, white and blue to be patriotic.

Cornhole (or Bag-O) Game Boards – You could also paint these in patriotic colors. Or, if you are like my family, try rival sports team colors (See picture).

Water Blob – A hilarious DIY alternative to a pool or a slip-n-slide.

Decorative DIY
Decorative Ornaments

Brick Patriotic Planter - Who doesn't have some extra bricks laying around? Paint them in red, white and blue, and plant some nice flowers in them.

4th of July Star Ornaments - They say use twigs, but you could just as easily make these with some red, white, and blue wire.

Duct Tape Banner – Finally, a legitimate excuse to use that fancy, decorative duct tape!

Patriotic Luminaries – You get to use your drill for this one.

Food
Beer Can Chicken

Cheese Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs – Have one with an ice cold beer and you can't get much more American.

Beer Can Chicken – Trust me, this chicken is worth sacrificing an entire can of beer just for cooking.

18 Things You Didn't Know You Could Grill – Watermelon? Doughnuts? Yep...all good on the grill!

Not gonna lie, I found a lot of really cool ideas on Pinterest (seriously guys, it's not as scary as you think!). I've added a bunch of other cool 4th of July ideas on the Official Klein Tools Pinterest page. Go check them out!
