CHICAGO, IL
– October 2003 – Klein Tools has reintroduced an improved
cable/lineman’s skinning knife (Cat. No. 1560-3) with a
serrated blade and a comfort handle for use with thick-sized cables.
Designed for professionals for skinning the ends of thick-sized
cable in preparation for cable splicing or termination, the new
cable/lineman’s skinning knife has a heavy-duty 3”
serrated blade made of hardened steel that provides maximum sharpness
and durability. A scraping notch on the top of the blade removes
wire insulation and contaminants such as cable-pulling compounds
and dirt.
The knife has a comfortable, textured black handle with finger
grooves and a guard that help to provide a firm, positive grip,
and keeps fingers safely away from the hook point blade. A stainless
steel, corrosion-resistant hang ring is securely molded into the
handle; there is no metal-to-metal contact between the blade and
the ring.
The knife also features an exclusive, rectangular shaped handle
design that can be attached to some utility hot-stick equipment.
The latest addition in Klein Tools line of cable preparation tools,
the new cable/lineman’s skinning knife rejoins two other
skinning knives, a leather lineman’s knife holder, a cable
splicer’s knife and a cable splicer’s kit.
